チェン・ズ(陳哲)は、1989年中国・北京生まれ。2011年アート・センター・カレッジ・オブ・デザイン（ロサンジェルス）卒業（写真専攻）。自傷行為をテーマにした作品〈Bees ＆ The Bearable〉で第3回三影堂撮影大賞受賞（2011年）、連洲写真フェスティヴァル年度賞（2012年）、Xitek･ニュー･タレント･アワード（2015年）､また､2016年には同名の写真集でカッセル･フォトブッ ク・フェスティヴァルで最高賞を受賞するなど､現在､最も注目されている中国の女性アーティストである。現在進行形の最新作〈Towards Evening: Six Chapters〉では日記や手紙を素材に、言葉とイメージの問題をテーマにしている。
