Small for a Puya, it grows to about 20 inches, small enough for most collections. It has narrow silvery leaves; less than a half inch wide, pretty spiny, in a loose but leafy rosette. The inflorescence is a pink spike that soon turns brown, with deep purple blue flowers with bright orange pollen. Grows well here at
