They laid down some special casks to investigate how the peated spirit would interact with Madeira, Burgundy and Manzanilla casks. They are releasing some of these casks now 19 to 20 years since they made their first run of peated spirit that was to be named Ballechin and they are all pretty exceptional. The 19y o bottles are two of the oldest Ballechin whiskies ever
