It also has beautifully carved interior compartments which make it a very individual and special piece. This interior style places it from Southern India 19thC Made to order by skilled carpenters, these chests were re enforced with corners of brass or iron. As they had to withstand a lot of punishment in transit, they were exceptionally well made.
