Old Tibetan Folding Choksar With Later Painting Finish - Burgundy Lacquer these were used by familiesThis Tibetan folding choksar dates to the 19th century and has been repainted in the 20th century as is often common practice in Tibet. The main feature is a single dragon clasping the cintamani, wish granting jewels in its claws. On the front two facing snow lions can be seen either side of a ceremonial urn decorated with ribbons. The quality of painting is superior to the painting of Tibetan furniture in the late 20th century and 21st century.
