Matted Antique (c.1897) Anatomy Print, Plate LXII: The Female Pelvis & Hip Joint The painting is signed inPLATE LXII: Pelvis and Region of the Hip Joint, from behind, the Body being erect, i. e., the Thighs extended. On the Left Side the Gluteus Maximus Muscle has been removed entirely and a small portion has been cut away from the margin of the Gluteus Medius. On the Right Side an opening has been cut into the Gluteus Maximus so as to expose the under lying structures. This anatomy plate print was taken directly from the 19th century book Henke's Atlas
