Gilt Lacquered Table Cabinet from Fujian Province - 19th Century Period - 17th Century 69 x 69 x 53This beautifully carved, lacquered and gilded altar cabinet would have occupied a place of prominence in a Chinese home. The various compartments and drawers would have held scrolls, incense and other ritualistic items and the space on top would be occupied by incense burners or devotional statues. It would make a great place to keep valuables and trinkets or as a display stand.
