I painted this en plein air at Sky Bridge Arch in Red River Gorge

A gentle layer of snow softens the rugged sandstone cliffs of the Red River Gorge

Many of the farms are very old

lots of color and a large variety of vegetation

The name "lily" comes from the Latin word for this type of flower

"Rock Bridge" at Red River Gorge, Kentucky - Giclee Fine Art Print farm art I painted this en pleinRock Bridge is located off Rock Bridge Trail in Red River Gorge. It is the only natural arch in the Gorge where water runs underneath it. The bridge was formed by a waterfall eroding the rock below it. When you walk a few more paces down the trail, Creation Falls can be enjoyed, complete with a sandy beach. During a warm summer day, I stood in the creek bed, sketching Rock Bridge, along with a fellow artist friend, who also sketched Rock Bridge.
