A silver gilt twelve armed star with red enamels, displaying interlaced silver gilded laurel wreath between the arms in blue enamels, obverse centre in silver gilt depicting coat of arms of Ecuador with the inscription REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR AL MERITO (Republic of Ecuador, For Merit), plain reverse, suspended by an unusual flat laurel wreath in silver gilt, measuring 43. 81 mm (w)
