Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A Gallipoli Star, By J.h Werner, Berlin consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac influential advocate of Czechoslovak independence(Harp Madalyasi). Instituted in 1915. Of German manufacture, a silver five point star with red enamelled arms and ball finials, the obverse features a large upward facing crescent moon and central tughra, reverse bears a horizontal pin assembly with multiple rivets, marked J. H WERNER BERLIN, measures 65. 0mm (w) x 65. 2mm (h), weighs 39. 3 grams, lovely enamelling, all intact, lightly toned silver, extremely fine condition.
