The 37-hectare vineyard is planted mostly to Merlot
Expect the estate's signature smoky
Unlike more opulent Châteauneuf-du-Pape
unfolding into earthy spice and menthol with air
This isn’t the wine for someone chasing textbook “modern” Barolo
Enfield Wine Co., Syrah Haynes, 2016 102225OFFER The 37-hectare vineyard is plantedEnfield's John Lockwood returns to Coombsville's Haynes Vineyard for this cool climate Syrah, made in his peppery, savory, Rhone inspired manner from one of Napa's most distinctive sites. The 2016 came from a balanced, even tempered California vintage that produced wines of harmony and freshness, with ripe dark fruit kept lifted by the cool bay air and stony soils. As with all his Syrah, this favors structure, spice, and savor over plush sweetness.
