Constructed of gilded and silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central depiction of a destroyer cutting through waves, with its bow extending beyond the left edge of the wreath, the reverse topped by a stabilizer, with a block hinge and banjo style horizontal pinback meeting a flat
